Race bibs are nearly sold out for the 47 km ultratrail with start and finish in the Cinque Terre village of Monterosso, scheduled for April 2nd, 2017.
It is true that the number of spots is limited to only 300, but Sciacchetrail, with 3 months to go until race day, has already reached the quota of 270 registered runners.
Word of mouth about the Cinque Terre ultra trail, with 2600m of elevation gain “on a loop course that traverses the steep cliffs and vertical vineyards” has been strong enough to cross oceans, with runners coming from all over the world: Italy, France, Czech Republic, Poland, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, The Netherlands, Spain, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Australia and the USA.
Our key partner La Sportiva, whose belief in us dates back to the first edition, will be with us again this year. We believe that this collaboration is an important part of the success of Sciacchetrail as it is based on a shared vision of living the outdoors.
Another important partnership is that with the inhabitants and hospitality business owners of Monterosso.
The “Proloco Monterosso” – underlines its president Stefano Nicora – is pleased to partner with this community event that opens the tourist season of the Cinque Terre, in the form of wine, nature and outdoor. We are receiving many booking requests from athletes, also for the days prior to the race. This confirms that Sciacchetrail represents a strong motivation to travel for families and small groups interested in a more profound and authentic experience of our destination.
The event is organized by ASD Cinque Terre and Cinque Terre Trekking.
