The partnership continues between the master goldsmith from La Spezia, creator of the step-by-step collection inspired by the Cinque Terre villages and Sciacchetrail, the 47km ultra trail along the wine trails of the Cinque Terre National Park, with start and finish in the village of Monterosso al Mare, scheduled for 20 March 2016.
The goldsmith’s art returns as protagonist in the second edition of Sciacchetrail. Again this year the task of immortalizing the sport of trail running and the centuries-old tradition of winemaking has been entrusted to Richy Steel, alias Riccardo Colombo. Each finisher medal, cast in bronze using the lost-wax technique, represents the course and the villages of the Cinque Terre. The result is a limited edition jewel that gives form to the immaterial: joy, talent, dedication, fragility, desire to succeed, and a healthy dose of madness. A jewel of material beauty, unique and perfectly imperfect, like our terraced landscape, like all handmade things. To uncork a bottle of wine, or to cross the finish line after running 47km, are gestures tied to the landscape with respect toward it, and are aims that in the Cinque Terre still deserve to be celebrated.
The finisher medal of the second edition of Sciacchetrail wants to recount this.
