Many new features this year.

It starts from the COURSE, a challenge for a limited number of athletes (300), already selected in the registration phase, because of the technical and demanding characteristics of the race: 49,9 km, 2300 meters of positive elevation gain on a loop trail with start and finish in Monterosso. Very little asphalt, this year even less, and lots of stone steps. Those same stairs built and traveled on by thousands of farmers through villages, sanctuaries and terraced vineyards.

A course as difficult as it is interesting from a cultural point of view that this year – thanks to the support of technical sponsor La Sportiva, local businesses and Cinque Terre Trekking – has attracted icons of the outdoor world of the caliber of ANTON KRUPICKA, La Sportiva ambassador , CLARE GALLAGHER, environmental activist and Patagonia Trail Running athlete, SALLY MCRAE, Nike Trail Elite and AMANDA BASHAM, Altra Running, al from the United States.

The TOP RUNNERS, guests of the Cinque Terre from 23 to 25 March, will be involved in numerous corollary events not just to talk about running but to underline themes related to sustainability, respect for the environment and the local community.

There will be plenty of opportunities for meetings with the WORLDS OF SPORT AND WINE, such as wine tastings organized by AIS La Spezia or the painting competition ARTRAIL dedicated to the betterment of the territory and its identity, with a special jury composed of Cinque Terre winemakers, artists like Francesco Vaccarone and exponents of the world of art and architecture.

Among the ACTIVITIES TO TRY at the Outdoor Village set up on 24 and 25 March in Monterosso: climb station, skateboard, stretching with Blackroll Italia, poledance, kid’s race, rowing, slackeline, mountain bike, table boulder, yoga and play yoga; and also art laboratories, guided wine tasting, and the highly anticipated cooking show on Sunday that will propose a meeting of flavors from the Cinque Terre with those of the Vara Valley, represented by the Comunità del Cibo Slow Food.  There will also be outdoor companies present, the Banca Popolare di Sondrio stand (a new sponsor of Sciacchetrail) and many gastronomic excellences.

99 regional train links for the Cinque Terre National Park and a co-marketing agreement with TRENITALIA, will allow you to easily get to Sciacchetrail without worries of queues and parking, always with an eye on the environment.
Those who present themselves to the Sciacchetrail merchandise stand in Monterosso, with a Trenitalia ticket, will be entitled to a special price.

In short, a growing community event  – organized by ASD Cinque Terre and Cinque Terre Trekking in collaboration with the Municipality of Monterosso al MareProLoco Monterosso with the support of Consorzi Cinque Terre, Sciacchetrà, In Manarola,  Pro Loco di Riomaggiore and Vernazza, Associazione Uniti per Corniglia; with the patronage of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, the Cinque Terre National Park, the Municipalities of the Cinque Terre and the Region of Liguria.
